Marcus Brückner, Biologist
Date of birth: 19.12.1965

about person:
After a study of biology at the University of Heidelberg, extensive experience in all fields of preparation and microscopy could be made as a product and application specialist since 1996 at Leica microsystems.

Since january 2003, running an own laboratory for preparation and microscopy.

about equipment:
At the time, microtomes (equiped with lots of options) and grinding and polishing machines are used. For visualizing the results, mainly a Leica DM RX research microscope which is equiped with numerous contrast methods like interferenz, polarisation or phase contrast for incident and transmitted light microscopy is used.

A CCD camera system of Panasonic is connected to a PC-system, so that pictures can be printed out in highest quality or given out as files. The measuring is done with the Leica IM 1000 image manager.

Due to a close cooperation with other laboratories and suppliers, also equipment for infrared- or electron microscopy is available.
